There’s nothing more exciting than getting up close to stunning birds of prey from all over the world. Some say it’s cruel to have such stunning birds held captive at falconry centres, while those with the knowledge know that captive birds live wonderfully relaxed and comfortable lives, unlike their wild counterparts.
There is much historical evidence of falconers' involvement in bird of prey conservation and without falconry, many birds of prey would have already become extinct. It’s only because of captive breeding and reintroduction programs that certain species are able to repopulate.
Many large, weighty birds dislike flying for long periods because it’s extremely tiring! So, sitting on a perch with food and water for zero effort is much like us relaxing by the poolside during an all-inclusive holiday. Perfect.
