"The third eye, also known as the 'Ajna chakra', is considered to be extremely powerful because it is a potent source of intuitive wisdom which can guide you towards creative pursuits, do away with negativity, provide knowledgeable insight and perhaps lead you to the highest form of intelligence helping open your eyes towards what needs attention.” Source: Times of India.
Why am I talking about the third eye on my photography blog?
Photography has become such an integral part of appreciating and enjoying the life I’ve been given. I have discovered a new vision that's deeply personal and this has guided me towards what truly matters.
Without a doubt, nature holds a very special place in my heart, it’s so delicate yet fiercely powerful and my respect for this is what drives me to pick up my camera at every given opportunity. I want to be able to cherish every moment that nature shares with me.
When I spend two hours watching birds and come home with nothing, I don’t mind. I am escaping from the mundane life that I so often slip into. The materialistic existence of purchasing things I don’t need, working day in and day out just to buy more things that i don’t need. When I'm out with my ’third eye', time is never wasted, instead I am discovering, learning and connecting. I become insignificant and my path is guided by what’s around me.
When i do manage to connect and lock that shutter on something truly unique to me, my heart skips a beat. I’m not exaggerating when I say a tear may form in my eye because it quite often has. That moment is what i live for and whether others see what i see doesn’t really matter. The whole experience is incredibly exhilarating and I will be eternally grateful to the very person who encouraged me to discover my third eye (thank you Ronnie).
Never ask me to kill an insect, I would not be able to live with the guilt.
